Human Price: mortality data since 1900
An atlas of historical mortality estimates: wars, genocides, colonial violence, famine, poverty, disease, homicides and overdoses. By country, year, cause and source.
The dataset distinguishes published counts, modelled estimates and uniform annual allocations. Coverage is incomplete; a sum of overlapping estimates is not a count of unique victims.
Dataset version: capitalism-ledger-2026q3-systematic-36
Method: capitalism-mortality-upper-v27
How to cite the data
Include Human Price, the page URL, selected years and mode, dataset and method versions, and access date. Check and cite the original source for a historical claim.
